Chapter Two

Without saying another word Beast Boy left the Conference Room, and headed down the halls for last time. Looking around at everything he was about to leave behind was hard to swallow, but not as hard as to whom he was leaving. His heart sank deep into his chest, as though the thought of her no longer being part of his life would tear him apart. The unbearable thoughts crossing his mind had been oblivious it was showing on his face. Realizing that he was giving himself away, he Shock his head trying pulling his self together. He knew this was the only way he could ever help Raven become whole again. Many other thoughts raced though his mind as he packed for his long journey. He had just finish putting his underwear in his overly cramp suitcase. He sat down on his bed to reminisce of the good times alone in his now quiet and shockingly clean room. He began thinking to himself, (Dude I’m acting like an old man. This sucks.) He was startled by a hard pounding knock on his door.

“BB it’s me Cy, can I come in?”  Asked frantic Cyborg,

“Yeah sure, whatever Cy.” He replied with a fake smile. He hope Cy wouldn’t make it harder on him to leave, and he’d understand the risk if he stayed. Not just to him or Raven, but to everyone.

Cyborg entered the room calmly holding back his emotions. He wanted Beast Boy to see that he’d be fine without him, although he would be lying to himself. Cy walked over and sat down on Beast Boy’s bed with a small sigh. Without words passing between the two of them, the moment became awkward in a matter of moments. With a rub of the back of his neck Beast Boy started to talk. “Uh... So … you wanted to say something Cy?” Looking down at the first person that treated him like a human being since his accident. With a heavy lump in his throat he spoke back. “So you’re really going to leave us, huh?”

“Yeah, but it’s not forever I just need to clear my head for awhile. You know a blank slate like it use to be? “Beast Boy said joking around. “It’s not like having me not here is going to make that big of a difference Raven‘s going to be her gloomy self in no time and Robin and Star will be to busy with them selves to notice.”

“What are you talking about,” Cyborg’s voice began to rise in aggravation,  “ You not being here will make all the difference, I mean who will play video game and joke around, Robin, he’s a stick in the mud compared to you! Sure he‘s got Star, but she still not you!”

At that time Robin had been listing outside Beast Boy’s door waiting to have his turn to try to understand why he was leaving.  Beast Boy looked down at the floor, then softly spoke. Although he knew it was just as hard on Cyborg as it is on him. “You got Raven, if you want to play sink ball,” Then he stared to smile leaning back on his bed staring at the ceiling reminiscing about that day. “Hey, Cy you remember that game Raven beat us 20 to 15…  Man, I had no ideal she was so great a sports, and before that the trip inside her head was so messed up, but that’s when I started to fall for her. You‘ll never guess but it was her laugh that I loved. I know how stupid, but I do.”

“So, why didn’t you ask her out sooner, before all this happened?” Cy asked calming down.

“Hello…, it’s Raven, we’re talking about here she’d probably have bound and gagged me, then thrown me in a closet of piousness snakes before even considering going out with me.” Beast Boy replied in his usual upbeat self, “Besides that I didn’t know if she even truly liked me enough for me to even ask.”

“So, you did have a crush on her,” Cyborg started to tease “That means Robin owes me ten bucks.”

Hearing that Robin decide to be on his way as if he had not been listening to them for the past five minutes.  

“Wait you put a bet on me?!” Beast Boy was surprised to hear. “And you weren’t going give me a cut?”

“Well, it was after you and Raven hooked up,” Cyborg replied, “I told Robin that you had feelings for Raven before your incident with your amnesia incident.”

“So, Robin didn’t believe I could ever like someone as dark and beautiful as Raven?” Beast Boy asked sounding upset, “I mean even with her attitude I always thought she was a kind hearted person, even if she didn’t laugh at any of my jokes.”

“Dude, no one laughed at your jokes but Terra and Raven’s sense of humor is well you know under wraps.” Cyborg reminded Beast Boy

“Duh, that’s why I didn’t mind if she didn’t laugh, because she was laughing on the inside,” Beast Boy said as if he was in a daze.  “And I got hear her laugh everyday when she was with me… It was wonderful.”

“Wait, did she laugh at you or your jokes?!” Cyborg exclaimed in surprise

“Both,” He Replied smiling, “And her smile it just light’s up my world every time I saw it. When I think about her smile, her lips, and her eyes it makes me want to stay by her side always.” His voice softened and his smile faded, “But if I stayed then I’d be putting her in harm’s way. If she doesn’t get control over her emotions she doesn’t stand a chance in a battle, and I‘m still useless.”

“Com’ on BB you know Rae’s stronger than that. Just look what she‘s been though.” Cyborg replied seriously

“No, Cy you’re wrong it’s been almost a year since she last controlled her emotions and me being around is just going to make it harder her.” Beast Boy said trying to hold back the tears.

“So, I guess you’re not going to be checking in on her.” Cyborg said feeling depressed.

“Well, I won’t get a chance while I‘m in China,” Beast Boy said picking up his suitcase, “My friend you see is a monk, and technology isn’t allowed on temple grounds.”

“Oh I see,” Cyborg looked even more depressed, “In that case take the T-ship and put it on auto pilot so to head back to Titan’s Tower.”

“Thanks dude.”  Beast Boy said with his memories weighing heave on his heart.”

After saying good-bye to everyone except Raven, Beast Boy headed down to the hanger so he could pack his stuff in the T-ship and leave. He was looking down at his feet while heading to the T-ship when he approached another set of feet in white high-heels. He looked up slowly from the bottom of the white evening dress up to her hands she held in front of her waist; her nails were painted red his eyes continued on up pass the black raven shape on her chest (that’s where her boobs are) to her beautiful lips shown with red lipstick and then up to her eyes with a loving look in as she blinked he could see the dark eye-shadow on her eyelids. Her eyes sparkled as the light hit them her hair shining as if it made an aura of their own. He was unable to speak from the pure shock of what he saw in front of him. His mind was blank as she walked towards him and kissed him softly, while gently wrapping her arms around his neck. All that he could do was to enjoy the moment.
